The Houthis militias are continuing their brutal aggression on Ma’rib Governorate, where millions of citizens reside and the majority of which are Internally Displaced Persons from the Houthis controlled areas. Today, the Houthis militias targeted residential neighborhoods in the city of Ma’rib with the eighth ballistic missiles within 48 hours, killing four civilians and wounding 12 others.
The ministry highlights that the new wave of Houthis aggression is the seventh after the defeat of six previous waves, in which the militia recruited children, planted forbidden mines, targeted civilians, and committed blatant violations against the prisoners.
The Ministry warns again against turning a blind eye to the war crimes committed by the Houthis militias and its continued violation of the international humanitarian law, and that perpetrators must be punished. It stressed that the continuation of this criminal behavior of the Houthis militias will prolong the war and exacerbate its disastrous humanitarian repercussions.
The Ministry notes that the drastic Houthis escalation today comes in response to the Government’s positive reaction to the international community’s calls to stop the war and achieving peace, which affirms the militia’s rejection of those calls.
The Ministry calls on the international community to exert maximum pressure on the Houthis militias, and the Iranian regime, to stop their aggression and military escalation and to put an end to their violations and crimes throughout Yemen.
